A Literary Gathering

K-Book Talk Series: Meet Korean Literature Online Even during this ongoing and difficult pandemic you can enjoy Korean literature events. The K-Book Talk Series was designed to invite international readers to meet best-selling Korean authors online.
From July to November, these events will celebrate the release of work by 9 authors which are appearing in translation in seven countries – the US, Canada, France, China, Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Readers might already be familiar with some of the work as they have been adapted into other forms of popular media, such as movies, dramas, and graphic novels, which have been loved by many people around the world. We invite you into the fascinating world of these Korean authors and hope you enjoy them engage in lively discussion with a wide range of international and influential guests, such as novelists and talk show hosts

Hosted by the Literature Translation Institute of Korea (LTI Korea), an institution affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports of South Korea, the Online Publishers Roundtable is a program for publishers, literary agents, and journalists specializing in literature worldwide.

About the Online Publishers Roundtable

Eligibility
: International publishers, literary agents, journalists interested in publishing works by Korean authors

The Online Publishers Roundtable consists of online introductions between publishers and virtual meetings between international and Korean participants.
Participants of the Roundtable can share their expertise and interest and learn about the publishing market in Korea. Successful applicants to this program will have the rare opportunity to experience and interact with the Korean literary scene, at home, at their convenience.

Program Details

1. Duration

The LTI Korea Online Publishers Roundtable is held in June 2021 for approximately four weeks. Meetings will be scheduled to fit each participant’s request.

2. Participants

15 International participants, 10 Korean publishers

3. Requirements

Participants will be requested to film and submit a video clip introducing their publisher/ agency/ institution and their interest in Korean literature. Participants are also expected to take part in virtual meetings with the Korean participants.

4. Benefits

1) Exclusive introductory video clips of Roundtable participants
2) Virtual meetings with leading Korean publishers/ literary agents
3) An honorarium of USD 500 Translation
4) Interpretation service provided on demand during sessions
